Overview
Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust’s Addictions Service undertook an Opioid substitution Therapy (OST) Project between February and March 2024, which included a face-to-face sessions and online feedback. The engagement involved a co-production session and an online questionnaire feedback survey with 25 service users who participated in the OST project in the Goole and Bridlington areas.
Key findings
- The engagement revealed positive experiences and outcomes of the service users who received the OST, such as reduced reliance on medication, improved relationships, and enhanced recovery prospects. The feedback also provided staff with confidence and evidence to offer the therapy to more patients.
- The Addictions service plans to develop an information leaflet, some case study posters, and a website content for both staff and patients based on the feedback. The service also intends to run the feedback survey with more service users who engage in the OST in the future.
