The Youth Recovery & Wellbeing College is a unique service designed for young people aged 11–18, focusing on person-centred care and addressing their mental health needs through various initiatives and collaborations.
The College was developed in response to several factors, including:
- The need for self-care and self-management tools for young people.
- The impact of the pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis, which have increased levels of anxiety and social isolation among young people.
- A disconnect with traditional educational and mental health services.
- The inadequacy of services designed for adults but adapted for young people.
- The need for preventative and creative support to maintain wellbeing and reduce the need for future services.
The Youth Practitioner service assists around 120 young people monthly, offering instant access to support and reducing the demand on mainstream services through early intervention.
