Health and Wellbeing Assessment in the East Riding

Musculoskeletal

Musculoskeletal (MSK) health refers to the wellbeing of the bones, muscles, joints, tendons, and ligaments that support movement and everyday function. In the UK, where the population is both growing and aging, musculoskeletal health is emerging as a key health and wellbeing priority.

MSK conditions are among the leading causes of disability and chronic pain around the world, and the UK is no exception. According to estimates, around one in four adults in the UK lives with a musculoskeletal problem, such as arthritis, back pain, or osteoporosis. These conditions are not limited by age, though their prevalence increases with time: both young adults and older people can be affected, as can children and adolescents.
