Purpose of the Group
The Strategic Engagement Development Group aims to develop a system approach for public and patient engagement, communication, and insight development in the East Riding of Yorkshire. In addition, the group oversees the implementation of this approach by describing and formalising how the Place partners will engage and communicate with our communities. As a result, this helps gather insight to inform future delivery.
Key Focus Areas
- Ensure public and patient involvement is central to the operation and governance of the ERY Place Health and Care Committee (HCC) and wider system’s responsibilities.
- Identify existing engagement activities across the system and identify gaps, priorities, and opportunities for further engagement.
- Develop a co-produced engagement approach at both Neighbourhood and Place level.
- Coordinate plans for patient, public and stakeholder engagement activity and find opportunities for joint working across Place to avoid duplication and add value.

SEDG Proforma
The SEDG proforma supports the organised collection and sharing of key information across partner organisations involved in service development and governance. This ensures that data, feedback, and evidence are documented consistently, enabling informed decision-making and collaborative working. Consequently, this structured approach improves communication and provides a clear audit trail for future reference.
