Access to supermarkets and takeaways

The Food Environment Assessment Tool (FEAT) allows users to map, measure and monitor access to food outlets at a neighbourhood level, including changes over time. It provides data (including counts) at LSOA, MSOA, Ward and LA level of food outlets that are supermarkets or takeaways. This data can also be downloaded.

The Feat tool can be accessed directly from this link: https://www.feat-tool.org.uk/feat2/, with further information about the tool available here: https://www.feat-tool.org.uk/.

Insights from the local food and farming community

The Rural Matters video below captures voices from farmers, food producers and rural leaders across the East Riding. It explores agriculture’s role in the local economy, the pressures facing farming businesses, the importance of partnership working, and the value of buying local. This video was originally hosted on the Council’s Supporting food and farming in the East Riding of Yorkshire page, which also features a transcript of the video.
